4 Subprocesses Diagram

Dr. Riggle: I was wondering if we should focus our attention to the Four Subprocesses diagram on page 321. What is most significant in knowing the diagrams?
Do we have to know word for word bullet points for the Four Subprocesses Diagram?

Possible Essay Topic

Dr. Riggle,

Are we allowed to discuss the Curiosity and Interest idea for the motivational part of the essay. I see that you included goal orientation and self-efficacy in your post which make up the three origins and determinates of motivation along with Curiosity and Interest. I was just wondering if that topic also fell underneath possible essay choices. Thank you

The Essay

Essay: In this essay you must-
A. Describe a learning situation,
B. Deconstruct the learning situation using concepts form either Bruner’s of learning, OR
Collins & Stevens model of inquiry teaching, OR Vygotsky’s theory of learning, OR,
constructivist learning theory. That is, you need to analyze how the leaning you
described can be explained using concepts from one of these theories.
C. Deconstruct the motivation for learning in the learning situation you describe using
concepts from one of the motivation theories we studied. They include Hull's drive
theory , OR Tolman's ideas on motivation, OR achievement motivation theory, OR
goal theory, OR self-efficacy theory, OR attribution theory, OR self-regulation theory.
In other word, you need to explain how the learner was motivated to learn in the
learning situation you described using concepts from one of these theories.
You gave us a paper with "Recommendations for the classroom based on Attribution Theory." Is this just for future references, or will we need to know it for the exam?

Achievement Behavior Diagram

Dr. Riggle,

On the Achievement Behavior Diagram I was wondering if we were responsible for knowing all of the words in the boxes or if we are just responsible for writing the underlined words in each box?

Thank you
