Sensory Memory

since sensory memory is only what you are "sensing" at the time with the five senses, what would the capacity and duration be of that?

Sensory memory holds a vast amount of information. Much more than we can comprehend at one time. If you look at the table on page 76 it indicates that the capacity is "large." As far as duration, I said a fraction of a second. The book says 0.05 seconds. Remember, we are NOT talking about the sensory information you are aware of. If you are aware of the information then it has moved from the sensory memory into short-term memory.
