This I Believe...

I believe that education is the most valuable gift one can give to a person. It builds one's identity, beliefs, perspective in relation to the world in which one lives. It is important to build a classroom environment which is structured with discipline as its foundation, but it must also give a child confidence to learn to one's full potential. I believe that the work that a teacher does is very critical in the development of a child in every grade level.

If I could give someone anything in the world, it would be an education. The knowledge learned about the world, others, and yourself amounts to so much more than just school subjects. People underestimate the power of an education. As teachers, we should find inside ourselves a need to impress upon others the importance of gaining such an education. Also, without our school careers, where would we find the confidence we have found through our teachers and peers?
