My Belief
To me, a teacher should be someone you can trust with your life; a teachers is someone who gives you life. A good teacher will give you everything needed to get to wherever your dreams can take you in life if you just allow him or her to. A teacher is someone who isn't in it for the glory or the fame because glory and fame very rarely happen for teachers. Very few teachers have achieved fame and fortune, but all of them should. They do more for the world than most for less than nearly all. Teachers are there to help people become who he or she is destined to be and make sure that that person is as prepared for whatever life throws at him or her as humanly possible. Teachers should be trusted and even more, they should be trustworthy. They shouldn't look down on the people they are teaching, they should help people be able to see eye to eye with them. No one ever said the job was easy but luckily, there are many people out there who are willing to give it a go. All of these people are great and courageous and should be given credit for all the wonders of the world.

I totally agree with what you are saying. I think that a good teacher not only teaches the required material, but also gives insparation and hope to thier students. Encouraging thier students to become whoever they want to be.
Tracy: I agree that teachers do not choose that profession because of the money or because it is an easy career. Teachers choose to teach because it is something they love to do and because they have a passion for helping kids and for wanting to be an influence in a child's life, and I think that says a lot about the character of a teacher.
