Teaching to share
I believe that the statement "those who can--do; and those who can't do--teach" (Anonymous) is a gross understatement of what teaching means. Teaching is not the lack of ability, but the thirst to impart knowledge on one another. I believe that "the mediocre teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the superior teach demonstrates, but the great teacher inspires" (Anonymous). The great teacher asks questions that will make the student think or act in a new way. It is also the job of a great teacher to give students the tools and resources to think for themselves. My wish is to someday be a great teacher that will not only inspire, but leave legacies.

When one says "to lead legacies" it is difficult to understand how or what one actually means by saying that. In the teaching profession, I agree that it is important to be a skilled educator that can leave lasting impressions on students. I believe that a teacher does not do their job to gain fame from others, but to gain respect from the job that they do to educate their students. If a teacher does their job beyond what is expected, then they will be remembered for making a difference in the lives of others.
I really like the quotes that you provided.
Kate, I loved the quotes you chose to get your point across. I don't think a lot of people give teachers the credit they deserve and realize how hard they work. "...the great teacher inspires." This is the kind of teacher I hope to someday be as well. Very well written!!
