This I Believe

I believe learning is one of the most important and intruguining adventures in life. The capacity to learn is limitless. The opportunities to learn are continuous. The ways in which we learn are complex and simple at the same time. Learning is a lifelong experience with no boundaries. Therefore, teachers are vital in perpetuating thought and encouraging others to constantly analyze, decide, question, affirm, or disprove. This makes teachers much more than a welth of facts and opinions but really an attribute to one's quality of life. An intelligent, passionate, caring, and inspiring teacher holds a valuable card by having the chance to drastically impact the lives of others. I believe as teachers we should all strive to be the catalysts of creative thought, knowledge, and compassion in others (only if first displayed by ourselves) and take great care to positively guide and inspire enthusiasm for a lifetime of learning.

I absolutely agree with you on how a teacher can drastically impact the life of a student and can change their life down the long run. I really like how you brought out the comment about how teachers are not just a wealth of facts but caring and compassionate people that have this other side to them that sometimes is forgotten with the cirriculm they are required to follow. A lot of time the compassionate feelings are overlooked. It is just as essential for the students to feel like they belong as to learn the facts that will make them successful.

Andrea, your wording is so incredibly beautiful!! I really like that you equate learning as as an "intriguing adventure" as well as the concept of complexity and simplicity coexsisting in one entity. I hope to someday be a "catalyst[s] of creative thought...and compassion". I think that this blub is exactly what teaching and learning should be. Kudos!!
